Shannon Leroy Taylor

Shannon Leroy Taylor, 75, of Morgantown, passed away Monday, July 10, 2023, at Sundale Nursing Home. She was born July 30, 1947 in Clarksburg, a daughter of the late James and Nella (Smith) Simons, Sr.

Shannon had many hobbies including movies, music, books, puzzles, bingo, knitting, and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandkids.

She is survived by her children, Yvonne M. Nang and Daphne "Suzi" Friend and her husband Jon; grandchildren, Ty McNeill, Justin McNeill, Nikkole McNeill, Kathryn McNeill and fiancé Robbie Wycoff, Joseph Taylor and his wife Brandi, Courtney Lyons and Steve Rentoul, Brittaney Lane, and Lyndon "L.J." Lyons and his wife Jenna; 31 great grandchildren; fiancé, Gary Michael Shultz; siblings, James Simons and his wife Paula, Verbena Ascherl, Fred Simons and Peggy, Deloris Amoroso and her husband Mike, Cecelia Donato and her husband Paul; and special cousin, Sissy Cottrill and her husband John.

Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Sunday, July 16th from 1:00-3:00 PM. Following the visitation, cremation services will be provided.
