Shawn Scott White

Shawn Scott White, known to his friends as “Jody”, 57, passed away in Morgantown on Thursday, January 2, 2025. He was born on September 10, 1967, a son to the late John and Alberta White.

He was a graduate of Morgantown High School and worked as a Plumbing Trade Specialist at WVU Facilities & Services. Football and baseball were his favorite sports and he found peace cruising the open road on his Harley. He enjoyed trout fishing in Elkins and took pleasure cooking for his family at home.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Chris White; sisters, Lisa Kennedy (Frankie), Danielle White, Stephanie Olexa (Steve); brothers, Jason White (Elizabeth), Albert Olexa (Diane), sisters-in-law, Bobbie Bolinger (John), Debbie Davis (Curtis); several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and his dog, Bartley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, John White, Jeffery White, and Jean Ann White; in-laws, Robert and Barbara McDaniel.

Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Tuesday, January 21st from 10:00AM until the time of the memorial service at 12:00PM with Pastor Jeremiah Bostic officiating. Inurnment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
