Sondra Jane Cowburn

Sondra (Preston) Cowburn, 83, of Morgantown, passed away at her home on Monday, April 10, 2023. She was born March 23, 1940, in Morgantown, daughter of the late John and Olga Jane (Dallacroce) Preston.

She worked as a cosmetic representative and in her youth at her father's pharmacy in Suncrest.

Sondra was considered as a sweet person who always had kind and thoughtful things to say to everyone she came in contact with. She had special devotions to her loving pets which she treated as her children.

She is survived by her brother, John Preston and his wife, Perkie; nephew, Dan Preston and his mother, Diana Preston; lifelong friend Cheri Cheslock; daughters, Wendy Lubineski and Johnna Warner; and grandchildren, Jericho Lee, Abby, Justin and Treb Lubinseki and Kimberly Warner.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Richard Neil Preston and aunts and uncles William, Danny, Fury, Louie, Inez (Penny), Mike and Charles Dallacroce.

A special thanks for the good care given by the caregivers of Amedysis Hospice as well as the staff at the Madison Center.

In accordance with her wishes, Hastings Funeral Home is in charge of cremation services.

Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Wednesday, April 26th from 4 – 6 p.m.
