Stella Wiles

Stella L. Wiles, 91, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023 at her home. Stella came into this world on April 2, 1932 in Shallmar, MD, the daughter of Charles Ray Martin and Naomi Ruby Martin.

She worked at Mon General as a CNA for 10 years, where she met her soulmate, Richard Wiles. Richard and Stella were married for 69 years. She loved camping, playing cards, fishing, canning, bowling in her bowling league, and enjoyed having fresh flowers in the house. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Stella is survived by her daughter, Nancy Taylor; grandchildren, Renee¬ Taylor; Chad Taylor; Karen Wezner; Stacy Benton; Jennifer Wetzel; great-grandchildren, Jeron Amoroso, Kendall Taylor, Kayden Taylor, Dillion Taylor, Rachael Wezner, Kierstan Perry, Christopher Wetzel, Liam Benton, Jace Benton; two sisters, Mary Wolfe and Edith Bryan; and one brother, Lawrence Martin.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Wiles; grandson, Ray Stewart; great-grandson Austin Taylor; four sisters Lora Brady; Christine Buxton; Patricia Chapman; and Judy Deely; and three brothers, Thomas Martin; Alvin Martin; and Charles Martin.

Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Thursday, December 21, from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at noon with Pastor Rich Schimansky officiating. A graveside service will follow at Shay’s Chapel Cemetery in Preston County at 2:30 pm.
