Suzanne Elizabeth Bucy 65, passed from this world on February 25, 2020. The daughter of Barbara Jean Tucker Bucy and William Lee Bucy, Suzanne was born in Morgantown on November 14, 1954. She graduated from Morgantown High School in 1973 and attended West Virginia University before moving to Goldsboro, NC. Suzanne’s remains were donated to the West Virginia University Human Gift Registry.
After returning to Morgantown in 1983, she resided with her mother and was active in numerous church and community activities. Lifelong passions included music, choir, and poetry. She enjoyed writing and sharing poetry with family and friends and had many of her poems published over the years. She loved music and dance and performed in an off-Broadway production of A Chorus Line. Having grown up and lived on the Clinton Hill dairy farm for 50 years, Suzanne loved taking walks outside, meeting and conversing with neighbors and especially loved meeting all the neighborhood pets. During the last 15 years, she enjoyed attending classes at the Osher Lifetime Learning Institute (OLLI) at WVU and presented two classes on topics of historic railroads and old-time radio shows.
Suzanne’s survivors include: mother Barbara Jean Tucker Bucy of Morgantown; brothers William Earle (Karen) Bucy of Bonita Springs, FL, and Robert Lee (Cindy) Bucy of Morgantown; nephews William Denis (Courtney) Bucy of Houston, TX, Michael Ryan (Ashlie) Bucy of Raleigh, NC, William Bennett Bucy of Morgantown, and six great-nieces and nephews: Alexandra, Elizabeth, Tucker, Keller, Lochlan, and Cooper.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her uncle John Albert Bucy, aunt Jane Bucy Tredway, and her grandparents, William Elza and Lulu Guthrie Bucy and Earle C. and Elizabeth Coda Tucker.
Donations may be made to an interest or charity of your choice. Some of her favorites were: OLLI at WVU, Goshen Baptist Church, Wesley Methodist Church, American Baptist Women, St. Jude’s Hospital, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Monongalia County Humane Society, and Marion County Humane Society.
