Tammy Elizabeth Whitacre

Tammy Whitacre, 43, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at her home. She was born December 5, 1979 in Philadelphia, PA, a daughter of Lois (Brucker) Whitacre and the late Charles W. Whitacre.

Tammy was an alumna of West Virginia University. She earned both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Communication. Tammy was further honored by the WV State Journal as a career Top 40 under 40. In her free time, she loved her dogs, took care of her husband and enjoyed celebrity news and reality TV.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Brian Patterson; siblings, Charles Whitacre, Jr. and Erik Whitacre and his wife Mary; grandmother, "Nan" Whitacre; nieces and nephew, Brittany, Olivia, Conchetta, Emma, and Benjamin Whitacre; Cambelle and Brinlynn Johnson; her special friend, John Cole; and her dogs that she loved dearly, Charlie and Sam.

In addition to her father, she is also preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Doris Brucker and "Poppop" Whitacre.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Animal Medical Hospital, 460 Hartman Run Road, Morgantown, WV 26505, making note on memo of check to be directed to "Needy Pet Fund" which is their program fund to help families who need financial help to treat their family pets.

Hastings Funeral Home has been entrusted with cremation arrangements and there will be no public services at this time.
