Thomas Cle Tucker

Thomas Cle Tucker, 72, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, surrounded in love by his family. Tom was born in Fairmont, WV on January 22, 1943, the son of the late Farrell Tucker and the late Phyllis Tucker. Tom loved and married his college sweetheart, Jean, of Carmichaels, PA. Together they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. They raised two children, Bill and Moose, together. When Tom’s boys, Bill and Moose, were younger and involved in Morgantown youth sports, he coached them in both baseball and basketball. When they moved on to high school and beyond, Tom and Jean were their biggest fans and were at all their games. When Tom’s grandsons were old enough, he coached them in baseball as well, and supported them all through high school. Tom and Jean were always there in the stands rooting them on with great passion. Tom himself enjoyed playing basketball and often had pick-up games with friends at the Shack, Suncrest Junior High School and outside on his driveway’s “neighborhood court”. Tom loved watching sports on television. He loved his WVU Mountaineers, Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates. One of Tom’s favorite pastimes, was to walk around his beautiful Suncrest neighborhood. He would often stop and talk to people and friends along the way. Everyone knew the “white haired guy” who walked around Suncrest. Tom worked as an Insurance Agent for a variety of Insurance companies in the community. He is survived by his wife, Jean (Hartley) Tucker; children William Cle “Bill” Tucker and fiancée Lesli Cottrell and Robert Jay “Moose” Tucker and wife Rebecca (Miller) Tucker; grandchildren: Cameron Tucker and wife Bailey (Coen) Tucker, Brady Tucker and fiancée Jana-Kate Simpson, Kyle Tucker, and Tucker family friend, Katie Laird. Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Saturday from 6-8p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Sunday, Nov. 1, from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Junius Lewis officiating. In keeping with his wishes, cremation will be provided following the services by Omega Crematory.
