Thomas Lee Martin

Thomas Lee Martin, age 67, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014, at his home following a three year battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Washington, DC on March 9, 1947. He is the son of the late Thomas J. Martin and Pearle Charlene Tenny. He was preceded in death by a sister, Julie Kackley. He married Janet Gerrard Martin in Miami, Fl in 1974. They have one son Bobrobert "B.R. Gerrard Martin and daughter in law, Shweta Hardy. He enlisted in the army in 1966 and served three tours in Viet Nam. He graduated from WVU in 1984 with a B. S. Degree in Agricultural Economics. Following graduation he worked first for EG&G as a contractor and then transferred to the Department of Energy until his retirement in 2005. In addition to his wife, son, and daughter-in-law, he is survived by three grandchildren, Ebony Taylor Martin, Alijah Tynil Martin and Isaac Gerrard Martin; two sisters, Jean Diane Hope and Dawn Marie Kackley and several nephews and nieces. Hastings Funeral Home has been entrusted with cremation services. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, Friday, August 22 from 6-8 P. M. Private services will be held at a later date.
