Thomas Petak III, 59, of Morgantown, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 20, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Thomas was born on June 21, 1956, the son of Thomas Petak II and Ella Mae Groves. Tom was a member of Riverside Apostolic Church where he was baptized in Jesus’ name. His main focus in life was family, and especially spending time with his grandsons. Tom also enjoyed the Kids Konnex Ministry through his grandson’s eyes. He is survived by his beloved spouse of 35 years Christina Cooper Petak; daughter, Nicole and her husband Andrew Moats; grandchildren, Andrew Thomas Moats and Zachary James Moats; sisters, Mitzi, Marci, and Melody; stepmom, Helen Petak of Mt. Morris, Pa; uncle, Denzil Groves and wife Wilma. He is also survived by sister-in-law Nance Barrows; mother-in-law, Marion Kennedy; and father-in-law, John Kennedy all of Cleveland, OH, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by brother, Jonny Petak; grandparents, Julia and Denzil Groves Sr. and Sam and Thelma Morano, and several aunts and uncles. Family and Friends will be received at Riverside Apostolic Church 336 Dents Run Blvd Morgantown, WV Thursday September 24, from 5-8P.M. Visitation will continue on Friday September 25, from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11A.M. with Rev. Nathaniel Hudson officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to, Riverside Apostolic Church P.O. Box 2040 Morgantown, WV 26502 to be given to the Kids Konnex Ministry.
