Tyler James Henry, 27, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2015 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born in Deer Creek, CA on July 10, 1987, the son of Sherry (Nowlin) Henry of Cross Lanes, WV and Steve Henry and step-mother Loretta of St. Paul, VA. Tyler’s passion was music, he was a gifted musician who loved playing. He wrote and composed the music for his band, A Gentleman’s Sport. He was very creative and active. He loved snowboarding, going to the lake and doing various water sports, gardening, and golfing. He also enjoyed cooking and was very good at it. But above all, he loved spending time with his friends and family. He will be remembered for his big heart, and the kindness and thoughtfulness he showed to everyone he came into contact with. In addition to his parents and step-mother he is survived by the love of his life Vanessa Sypolt; step-siblings; Tabatha and Mitchel Baker; maternal grandmother: Joyce Nowlin; paternal grandmother: Iva Vernon; aunts and uncles: Teressa and Joe Fralic, Michael and Brenda Nowlin, Patty and Russel Zollinger and family; Mike and Lori Hiatt and Val and Jim Ericson; numerous cousins; and his brothers in music: Timothy Cross, Aaron Gawthrop, Joseph Welsh and Jeremiah Price. Also he is survived by his beloved pets Mamma and Peter. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Gene Vernon and his maternal grandfather Dana Nowlin. Cremation services will be provided by Hastings Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 12th at the Backwaters of Cheat Lake at 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tyler's memory to P.U.R.R. West Virginia, 306 Beech St., Grafton, WV 26354.
