Victoria Comuntzis

Victoria C. Comuntzis, 93, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Morgantown passed away Monday, September 13, 2010, at Lincoln Manor of Decatur, IL.Victoria was born in Chicago on April 14, 1917, the daughter of the late Emmanuel Chirigos and Angelike Bougatsos Chirigos.She was a member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, where she was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary (Philoptochos) She is survived by two daughters, Annette Houser of Pittsburgh and Georgette Page of Illinois four grandchildren, Vanessa, Kristin, Sara and Joseph, and three great-grandchildren Tessie, Peter, and Isabella. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter G. Comuntzis her sisters, Catherine ""Kitty"" Caloger and Cora Heropoulos. Friends may call at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown on Friday, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. A Trisagion service will be held at the funeral home at 8:30p.m. Friday evening, to conclude the visitation. Visitation will continue from 9-10a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18 at The Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 447 Spruce Street, Morgantown. The funeral service will be held at 10:00a.m.Saturday in the church with Fr. David Shaw officiating.
