Violet Eloise King, 94, formerly of Beechurst Ave., Morgantown, passed away early Monday morning, June 4, 2012 at Mapleshire Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center.Violet was born in Morgantown on February 19, 1918, a daughter of the late Frederick Jakeway and the late Barbara (Berthel) Jakeway.Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Barbara King of Morgantown a granddaughter, Shonda Christine King-Myers and her husband Gary of Maryland a grandson, Jamie King of Morgantown and a niece, Olive Ayers of Ohio, which the King family raised.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Donley King, Sr. in 1988 two sisters, June McPherson and Mary Everly and a brother, Frederick âBudâ Jakeway.A life-long resident of Morgantown, Mrs. King was a a Catholic by faith who enjoyed cooking and crocheting.At the request of Mrs. King, no funeral home visitation will be held and a private committal service will be held at East Oak Grove Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.Mrs. Kingâs family wishes to extend a special than you to the staff of Mapleshire Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center for their compassionate care.Hastings Funeral Home of Morgantown is in charge of the arrangements.Send condolences online at www.hastingsfuneralhome.com.
