Walter H. Layman, Jr., 59, of Montrose Avenue, Morgantown passed away Thursday, December 17, 2009.Walter was born in Fairmont, WV on March 2, 1950, the son of the late Walter H. and Joan Hallam Layman.He graduated in 1968 from East Fairmont High School and West Virginia University and Cornell University. He was a U. S. Army veteran having served during the Vietnam Era. He was a former employee of Lakeview, Wholesale Mattress Outlet and Magic Water Bed. He enjoyed traveling.He is survived by one brother, John Franklin Layman and wife Lois of Fairmont one niece Rosanna Layman of Fairmont one nephew, Michael Layman and wife Michele of Fairmont and several cousins.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Joan L. Kirby.Cremation services will be provided by Hastings Funeral Home.A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced.
