William Bellman

William “Bill” Bellman, 91 of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday morning, February 18, 2015 at his residence. Bill was born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 15, 1923, a son of the late Samuel and Minnie Horowitz Bellman Fox. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Shirley Ackerman Bellman; his sons, Steven Bellman and his wife Kandance, and Bruce Bellman; his daughter, Terri Lynn Ward and her husband Jeff; his grandchildren, Robin Yost, Kevin Bellman, Matt Bellman, Eric Bellman, Adam Bellman, Stephanie Bellman Gunnoe, Diane Harris, Tanya Whitlock, Julie Wagner, Kayla Bellman and Josh Ebert and 17 great-grandchildren In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one great-grandchild and his siblings Florence Robinson, Sidney Weinstein, Ruth Moskovitz and Max Bellman. Bill owned and operated Bill’s Laundries and Cleaners for more than 50 years. He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard, having served during World War II. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Bill was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan, as well as a fan of the WVU Mountaineers. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Thursday, February 19th from 5-8 PM and again on Friday, February 20th from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM with Rabbi Joseph Hample officiating. Interment will follow in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Westover, where full military honors will be accorded at the graveside.
