Wilma Frances (McDonald) Boyce died peacefully at home on Monday, December 11. She was 90.
Wilma was born on September 30, 1933, to Albert and Grace McDonald. She met the love of her life, Donald Frederick Boyce, of Morgantown, who she married on August 5, 1950. For most of her life, she worked at home, raising five children and caring for grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and others, all of whom you can see her influence in today.
She loved to cook, read, go to yard sales, and spend time with family and friends. She grew a beautiful garden, canned vegetables, and cooked big, delicious meals. A lifelong resident of Morgantown, she knew her neighbors and her community, and she was well-loved by anyone who was lucky enough to get to know her. Her biggest and most important legacy is her family, who she was always looking after, and bringing together, and who always knew exactly where she stood.
She is survived by her five children: Rita Eakin; Fred Boyce and his wife, Cathy; David Boyce and his wife, Linda; Mary Chafin and her husband, Chris; and Lisa Cupp; twelve grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Donald Frederick Boyce, who passed away in 2012, as well as her parents and many siblings.
The family will receive friends at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Monday, December 18th from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m.. She will then be laid to rest in the Nicholson Cemetery on Summer School Road.
