Wilma Louise Squires Bruner

Wilma L. Squires Bruner, 88, of Morgantown and Elkins, passed away Monday, July 27, 2015 at Bishop Hodges Continous Care Center of Wheeling, WV. Wilma was born in Louisa, KY on August 30, 1926, the daughter of the late Herman Copley and the late Elsie (Riggs) Copley. She was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in both Morgantown and Elkins. She and her husband, Bob, volunteered for several years with MAPS missionary associates, traveling around the country to offer services and assist U.S. Missionaries. She was formerly employed at West Virginia University in the President’s Office. Her love for the Lord and deep love and commitment to children will be for what she is most remembered. She was the most gracious hostess to anyone entering her door. She is survived by her children, Alvey (Marjorie) Squires of Wheeling, Ed (Norma) Squires of Ft. Collins, CO, and Rita (Myron) Heckman of Brewster, MA; her sister, Betty (Roger) Lance of Sterling, OH; 12 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren. In addition, she is also survived by dedicated step children, Arlys, ‘Art’ (Cye Ann) Bruner of Westover, WV, Bradley (Debbie) Bruner of Arthurdale,WV and Douglas Hall of Morgantown, WV, Pamela Coe (David) of Cumming, GA and Mary Grace Mansfield (John) of Pittsburgh, PA. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Alvey O. Squires, Sr., her second husband, Robert W. Bruner, and her sister, Eileen Sigler. Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Friday, July 31st from 5-9 PM. A memorial services will be held at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 308 Elmhurst St., Morgantown on Saturday, August 1st at 5:00 PM with her son-in-law, Rev. Myron Heckman officiating. Private interment will take place at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover. Memorial donations may be made to Cape Cod Bible Alliance Church, 3600 Main Street, Brewster, MA 02631.
