Edna Pearl James Grinvalds, 87, of Morgantown, formerly of Weston passed away Thursday, September 1, 2011, at Ruby Memorial Hospital peacefully with family at her side.Edna was born in Lewis County, WV on April 10, 1924, daughter of the late Guy Washington Stalnaker and Mary Blanche Marsh.Edna was twice married, first to Lee Roy James on September 20th, 1949 who died on November 11, 1957 then to Olgerts Grinvalds who proceded her in death July 1st,, 2003. She worked as a skilled hand decorator at the West Virginia Specialty Glass Company for nearly 25 years. She was a long standing member and President of the Ladies Auxillary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. While at a Fraternal Order of Eagles convention, she met Olgerts and they married on April 27th, 1968 and moved to Morgantown. She participated in the Active for Life exercise classes with the Suncrest United Methodist Church (Drummond Chapel) as a group leader. Edna was a member of St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church, and served as a hospitality and eucharistic minister until ill health prevailed. She was also preceded in death by her son David L. James brother, Paul Stalnaker and granddaughter, Rachael Mayfield. She is survived by her children, Dreama James Mayfield and husband David of Carrollton, TX Valda Grinvalds Kawecki and husband Mark of Pittsburgh, PA daughter-in-law Milinda James of Bruceton Mills, WV sister-in-law Ilga V. Grinvalds of Morgantown, WV. Grandchildren, Deborah James Barker and husband Eric of Evans, GA Sarah James and Greg Wood of Charleston, WV _Mark and Rebekah James of Bruceton Mills, WV, Ashleigh and David Mayfield, Jr., of Carrollton, TX Marleigh, Liam and Sullivan Kawecki of Pittsburgh, PA.Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, Monday, September 5 from 3-5 and 7-9pm. A Prayer Service will be held at 8:30p.m with Rev. Tim W. Halloran officiating. Visitation will continue at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church on Tuesday, September 6th from 10:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am with the V. Rev. Mark G. Ward, CP, VF as Celebrant. Interment will follow in East Oak Grove Cemetery at 2:00p.m.
