Obituary of Brenda White

Brenda Joyce Uphold White, 57, of Durham Lane, Rock Forge, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at her residence after a courageously and strongly fought battle against ovarian cancer.She was born in Morgantown on May 5, 1955, the daughter of Clarence Uphold who survives her in Morgantown and the late Leona Mae (Keener) Uphold.Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Joseph Franklin White four children, Talley Swaney and husband Larry, Kelly white and her companion Anthony Marshall, Joseph White and companion Heather Banks, and Butch Allen White his companion Samantha Lupse, all of Morgantown nine grandchildren, Brittany McDonald, Bailey McDonald, Dominique White, Destiny White, Corey Swaney, Skyler White, Myia Banks, Kyia Lupse, and Levi White and four siblings, Betty Golden and husband David, Barbara Golden and husband Daniel, Patty Mason and Charles Uphold and his wife Sherry, all of Morgantown.Brenda worked at West Virginia University for many years in the food service and housing departments. She attended the Chestnut Ridge Community Church.Brenda was a completely devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and daughter. Throughout her illness, she continually showed strength and perseverance. Even in her darkest times, she would find a smile to put on, so that she would make everyone else feel better. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and feeding peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to her dog, Bacon.Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Friday, October 19 from 1-3 & 6-8 PM and again Saturday, October 20 from 10-11 AM. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday morning in the funeral home with Pastor Tim Haring officiating.
