Wilbert Kenneth Uphold, 69, of Morgantown, passed away Monday, September 10, 2012 at Ruby Memorial Hospital after a short battle with throat cancer.Wilbert was born April 7, 1943 in Star City the son of the late Milbert K. Uphold and Opal (Howell) Uphold.He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He was a pipe insulator and worked for B & B Glass where he retired in 2005. He loved watching Nascar and WVU football. He also loved to hunt and fish with his son Michael.He is survived by two sons, Michael Uphold and spouse Robin of Morgantown and Bernie Uphold and spouse Cheryl of Allentown, Pa two sisters, Barbara Michaud and spouse Steve of Morgantown and Bonnie Loughry of Morgantown two brothers Robert Uphold of Morgantown and Charles Uphold of Daybrook. He is also survived by one grandson, Daniel Uphold and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two infant children Nina Marie and Christopher Allen.Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, Thursday, Sept. 13 from 10:00am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00P.M. (Noon) with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Burial will follow in West Virginia National Cemetery, Pruntytown at 1:30p.m. Full military honors will be accorded at the cemetery.
