After fighting a courageous battle against breast cancer for more than 11 years, Alma Jean (Chipps) McMillen, 68, of Morgantown was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Saturday, July 14, 2012.Alma is survived by her devoted husband and caregiver, Wilbur E. McMillen a son, Michael E. McMillen and fianceâ Jeannie Ryan a daughter Angela and spouse Randy Eaglen grandchildren, Zack and spouse Susie McMillen, Ben Eaglen, Katlyn Ryan and Sam Ryan. She is also survived by her mother, Madeline Chipps sisters and spouses, Re and Rone Dalton Louise and Wayne McDonald Kathy and Glenn Dalton, Jr and several brothers/sister-in-law Betty McMillen, Clarence âJoeâ McMillen, Audrey âSisâ McMillen, Roy âPoochâ and Doris McMillen, Millard and Ann McMillen, Virginia Satterfield and Connie McMillen many nieces, nephews and special friends.Alma loved spending time with her family and friends but especially being with her husband. In September of 2010, while going through chemotherapy, the couple celebrated their love for each other by renewing their vows on their 50th wedding anniversary, where they first met and fell in love ( the old Cool Springs School), surrounded by their family.Alma was preceded in death by her father, Wilbur âChipâ Chipps, her in-laws, Glenn and Della McMillen and several brothers/sisters-in-law Elmo McMillen, Kay McMillen, Jean McMillen, Lawrence âBeanieâ McMillen, Helen McMillen, Jim McMillen, Howard and Vivian McMillen, Paul McMillen, Goldie and âBuckâ Maxon and Dave Satterfield.Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, Sunday, July 15 from 6-8p.m. Monday, July 16 at the Covenant Evangelical Methodist Church, 802 Greenbag Road, Morgantown from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, July 17, at the church from 10:00am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00am with Rev. Sean Wightman officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Westover.In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Almaâs memory to Breast Cancer Research.
