Obituary of Virginia Jones

Virginia Tait Jones, 84, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Monongalia General Hospital. She was born on May 19, 1927, in Morgantown, the daughter of the late John F. and Adaline Virginia Wilson Tait. Virginia was a homemaker who also was an active volunteer for Monongalia General Hospital. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be great missed. She loved her faithful companions, Ginger her dog and Kallie her cat. In her younger years, she enjoyed riding and showing horses. She was an avid supporter of WVU football, basketball, and Monongalia General Hospital. She is survived by her children Jennifer Jones of Woodbridge, VA, Christine Garrison of Carmichaels, PA, and Lorraine Alvarez of Bruceton Mills, WV, five grandchildren, Yvonne Burns, Stacey Taft, Steven Clawges, Tyler Spacht, and Ryan Clawges, as well as 9 great-grandchildren, and a sister Carolyn Derenberger of Charleston, WV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Clawges, a brother, Alexander Tait and sister Martha Hatcher. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St. Morgantown, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm on Tuesday, April 24, and again from 10-11am o Wednesday, April 25. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11am with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Interment will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
