Obituary of Robert Wade

Robert Clarence Wade, 90, of River Road passed away at home on Friday, April 20, 2012.He was born September 4, 1921 in Morgantown, a son of the late Lexie Anna Bell Wade and Alvin Clarence Wade.He graduated from Morgantown, High School where he was involved in the thespian where he performed live on stage with Don Knotts and a drum major for the Morgantown High School Band.Robert was Methodist by faith.He served in WWII and was stationed in Burma, India for 27 months.He retired as a lab technician from the West Virginia State Road. He loved gardening, cutting grass on his riding lawnmower and his dog, Millie.Robert is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Joyce and Mike Dineen of Morgantown, two sons and daughter-in-laws Gary and Dottie Wade of Athens, Georgia Douglas and Jane Wade of Lexington, Kentucky. He is survived by four grandchildren Micalyn Dineen, Katie Wade, Doug Wade and Jenny Franklin and 3 great-grandchildren Hailie, Lucas and Sarah.He was preceded in death by his wife, Florene Joliffe Wade and brother Carl Everett Wade.Special thanks to all of the wonderful caretakers from Senior Monongalians, Reliable and Morgantown Hospice. Also we would like to thank the Monday night group at WestSide Senior Center for your music and friendship.Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, Monday April 23 from 3-5 and 7-9p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, April 24 from 9:00am until the time of the funeral service at 10:00am with Rev. Kevin Cain officiating. Burial will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded at the gravesite with members of VFW Post 548 and WVANG Military Funeral Honors Group, Camp Dawson, Kingwood.The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Westside Senior Center, 500 Dupont Road, Morgantown, WV 26501 or Animal Friends of North Central West Virginia, P.O.
