Herman W. Liddle, 89, of Lehigh Acres, FL, formerly of Hickory Street, Morgantown, passed away Saturday April 14, 2012 at Hope Hospice Care in Lehigh Acres, FL.He was born February 22, 1923, in Worth, WV, a son of the late John and Thelma Harman Liddle. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. . He retired from the mining industry as a supervisor after 27 years of service, having been employed with the Arkwright, Blacksville and Humphrey Coal Mines. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #2602 of Lehigh Acres, FL, and the Admiral Lehigh Golf Resort. He is survived by four sons, Gerald Liddle of Lehigh Acres, FL, and Allan, William and Steven Liddle, all of Morgantown one sister, Elizabeth Watson of Tazwell,VA, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Marie Liddle on July 29, 1995, five brothers and two sisters. Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Saturday, April 21st from 11 AM until the time of the funeral service at 1 PM with Rev. Dr. John E. Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Westover.
