Mary Helen McIntyre Roy, 58, of Bailey Circle, formerly of Spring St.., Morgantown, passed away Thursday evening, January 12, 2012 at Ruby Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.She was born in Morgantown on June 30, 1953, a daughter of the late Howard and Catherine (Yoak) McIntyre.Mary enjoyed boating with her husband at Deep Creek Lake, and taking trips to Ocean City, MD. She was employed at various places through the years such as RESA 7, Hills, BiLo, the Silver Spur, Dairy Mart and Murphyâs Mart. She was an amazing woman who had a wonderful sense of humor, and could keep you laughing in aqny situation. With a heart of gold, she took care of her family, down through the generations, with deep conviction â" always putting others needs well before her own.Survivors include her five siblings, Maxine Solt and her husband George of Morgantown and Ft. Myers, FL, Robert McIntyre and his wife Shirley of Newburg, WV, and Thelma Stone and her husband Michael, Billie Jo Osecky and her husband Jeff and Scott D. McIntyre all of Morgantown and several nieces and nephews whom she loved and cared for as her own children.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Larry Clyde Roy on August 31, 2009 a sister, Martha McIntyre Sturba and her husband Giulio, and a niece, Patty Jo Becker.Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Sunday, January 15th from 5-9 PM and again on Monday, January 16th from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM with Pastor Kevin Cain officiating. Interment will follow in East Oak Grove Cemetery. The family would like to extend special thanks to the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Centerâs doctors, nurses and staff, the Skilled Nursing Unit, and the wonderful Dr. Michael Craig for the excellent care and compassion given to Mary during her illness.
