I just learned of Mike's passing, and offer my sympathy to Terri and the family. I have wonderful memories of working with Mike, as well as enjoying many rounds of golf, particularily attending the 1983 Ryder cup.

Terry and family, In times of such profound sadness, what can I say? Mike was a truly remarkable individual and his family and his personal accomplishments are testimonies to that. Who couldn't like him? He was cute, funny, witty, and serious at the same time. His devotion to his family and his dental practice were always obvious, and his less obvious conservative principles and beliefs I admired. I certainly will miss him professionally and personally, but I am very grateful that our paths crossed. I can only hope that he enjoyed knowing me as much as I enjoyed knowing him.

I was a patient for over 30 years. My family joined me later as patients of Dr. Gocke. We are so sorry for your great loss. My last memory was of Mike gluing a crown on my front tooth. We both knew it wasn't exactly right but if he glued it on, it couldn't be removed for revision. I was going on a special trip and tearfully told him to go ahead with it as I couldn't stand the temporary crown any longer. He looked at me and gently said, "We'll make you another one when you get back." After he left the room Tina and I exchanged surprised glances. His last gift to me was compassion. Dr. Gocke was my denist since early 80's when I came back to Morgantown. I had always been scared of going to a denist but he was easy to go to. He was a very friendly and caring man who will be greatly missed not only by what he did but also just as being a man. I'm sure he will be greatly missed by his staff who were his friends as well as his family. My heart goes out to his family at this time. We have lost a verly loving man.

Many years ago I was suffering the consequences of less than desirable work from several dentists. I am so grateful that I found Dr. Gocke. His calm manner and competence fixed all my problems. His entire office staff was friendly, helpful and professional. His are big shoes to fill. He will be sorely missed.

After having worked with Dr. Gocke for many years, I simply cannot convey my sadness after learning of his passing. Several of the staff members of twenty five years ago remain best friends to this day. We owe it to the kindness of Dr. Gocke and Terry and to the atmosphere which they promoted within the practice.
