Obituary of Permelia Deuesenberry

Permelia âPamâ Deuesenberry, 74, of Morgantown, was called to take her place in Heavenâs garden on Tuesday, October 25, 2011. Pam was born on February 6, 1937, in Morgantown, the daughter of the late Cecil and Lucille Mayfield Holbert.Pam also known to her grandchildren as âGrandma Charlieâ was a very loyal and loving soul. She loved her family, word search puzzles, keeping up with current events and cheering on the Mountaineers. For several years she was employed as a dietary aid at WVU Hospital. In 1972, she shared her love for children by opening âGranma Pamâs Family Child Careâ in her home. By the time of her retirement in 1999 she had touched hundreds of childrenâs lives. She is survived by her living husband of 53 years, George Wayne Deuesenberry, three daughters Kelly Harbert and husband Mark of Monongah, Karla Kurcaba and husband Gregory of Morgantown and Kristine Vinson and husband Randy of Morgantown, five grandchildren Candace Howell and husband Robert of Fairmont, Mark Harbert Jr. and wife Ashley of Monongah, Lindsay Kurcaba-Bailie and husband Daniel of Morgantown, Storm Deuesenberry of Morgantown and Maranda Vinson of Morgantown as well as 6 great-grandchildren, Dominic, Mark III, Olivia, Anthony, Joshua and Brooke Harbert. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gail Holbert and a granddaughter, Aubrey Deuesenberry. Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, from 2-4 & 6-8pm on Friday, October 28, and from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 11am on Saturday in the funeral home with Rev. Kevin Summers officiating. Interment will follow at Nicholson Chapel Cemetery.
