Randy Snyder, 64, of Summers School Road, Morgantown, passed away Monday, September 19, 2011, at Monongalia General Hospital.Randy was born in Morgantown on August 20, 1947, the son of the late Harry âPee Weeâ Wilbur Snyder and the late Mary (Staggs) Snyder.He had been employed in the maintenance department at WVU for 31years until he had to take a leave of absence due to his health. He was an avid antique collector and was known as one of the original pickers. He also enjoyed golfing, camping, softball, going to eagle conventions but most of all spending time with his grandkids. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him. Randy was a member of the Morgantown Eagles where he had served as past district and state president. He is survived by his loving wife and lifelong best friend of 39 years Cheryl West Snyder, his daughter, Randi Bourne and her husband, Rod of Morgantown, their grandchildren, Haley and William Young, Shane, David and Autumn Bourne and Samantha Snyder, his sister-in-law Alice West, step-daughter, Connie Gillespie, two special nephews Larry and John Snyder, and half sister Sandra Blosser as well as his two buddies Taffy and Yoko, his faithful companions. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Snyder, sister-in-laws, Bonnie Snyder and Darlene Cline and his father and mother-in-law, John and Catherine West. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Wednesday, September 21, from 3-5 & 7-9pm. Visitation will continue at Nicholson Chapel Church on Thursday, September 22, from 10-11am. The funeral service will be held in the church at 11am with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Interment will follow in Nicholson Chapel Cemetery, Morgantown.
