Mis Bobette's granddaughter Olivia was born a little after my daughter Olivia, and we both loved our sweet little Olivia's. We lived on Kingwood St and my daughter loved when we'd walk up the street to see Miss Bobette and Miss Jean. Sometimes we'd ask for a song and Bobette would pull her tambourine out from under the counter and sing a joyful song. Morgantown and especially Greenmont will never be the same without her.

I'm speaking from the families prospective. My Aunt loved with the God kind of love. She truly tried to help as many people as she could and she never stopped telling people about Jesus! There were times she got discouraged but she didn't stay in discouragement. She always found someone to encourage!

God has reclaimed his angel...Bobette was a very special lady. As a member of the MHS class of 1971, she impacted so many lives. We all loved her.In 1982, when my late brother(former Morgantown City patrolman Ron Shafer) was killed, we cried and prayed together. There will never be another Bobette.

The many children Bobette loved who shopped at her store in Second Ward remember her fondly. The Morgantown Class of 1972 has posted many warm memories of Bobette and buying candy there after school. She was part of all of our childhood. When others where saying back in the 60's God is dead she told, sorry about their God, but mine is ALIVE!God Bless You Bobette.

I moved from Morgantown 40 years ago but remember Bobette from my high school days when her store on Wilson Ave. was mobbed for lunch by a throng of rowdy hungry teenagers. She always had a smile, was patient and kind. The MHS Class of 1971 has a group on Facebook, and she was the topic of a recent discussion, remembered fondly by many. She was a very special lady to a lot of young people. My condolences to her family...I remember her son Larry...on your loss.
