Rose Catherine Panson, 85, of Morgantown passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Ruby Memorial Hospital after a short illness.Rose was born in Morgantown on June 26, 1925, and was the daughter of the late Salvadore Sam) and Antionette Basile. Rose was a member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church and was a retired real estate agent for Dorsey & Kiger Realtors. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt. She will be deeply missed not only by her family, but by all who had the pleasure of her acquaintance. Rose was preceded in death by her parents her loving husband, Anthony brothers Carl and John Basile and sisters Angeline Collins and Mary Shuppe. Rose is survived by her three children George, of Morgantown Michael (Karen), of Pittsburgh and Helen (Timothy) End, of Pittsburgh as well as her sister Antionette (Douglas) Hill of Morgantown. She is also survived by three grandchildren Anthony, Paul (Brandi), and Stacey End as well as great grandchildren Luke and Maggie Panson, and a niece, Sandra Dimilo of New York. Rose would have wanted to give special thanks to her loving caregivers, Jackie and Connie. Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown from 6-9p.m. on Saturday, April 30 and from 1-5p.m. on Sunday, May 1. A Trisagion service will be held at 4:30p.m on Sunday in the funeral home to conclude visitation. Visitation will continue at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Morgantown on Monday, May 2, from 10a.m. until the time of the Divine Liturgy 11a.m. with Fr. David Shaw officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Cemetery.
