Obituary of Ethel Rogers

Ethel L. Rogers, 71, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2011, at Madison Nursing & Rehab of Morgantown, with her family by her side.Ethel was born in Morgantown on February 26, 1940, the daughter of the late Oscar and Leo McCartney Metheny.She was Baptist by faith.She had been employed as a machine operator with the former Sterling Faucet Co. in Sabraton for 32 years. Ethel loved to watch hummingbirds and enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by three children and spouses, Allen and Shirley Rogers of Masontown, Robert and Kim Roderick Rogers of Morgantown and Artie and Janet Rogers of Morgantown. Also surviving are three sisters and one brother, Mary Puckett of Opp, AL, Richard Metheny of Jacksonville, FL, Patricia Lucas of Sistersville and Nancy Strange of Grafton Road nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roamie Rogers in 2004.The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Staff at Madison and especially her roommate Edie.Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Tuesday, April 26 from 6-9p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, April 27 from 9-11a.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11:00a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Craig L. Falkenstine officiating. To honor Ethel's request, cremation services will be provided following the funeral service an inurnment services will be held at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover at the convenience of the family.
