Emilou LaGatta, 74, of Westover, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2011, at Monongalia General Hospital.Emilou was born in Good Hope, WV on January 11, 1937, the daughter of the late H. D. Smith and Emma J. Currey Smith.She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Emilou managed Tri-AG Federal Credit Union for 27 years. She became a volunteer for Mon General Hospital Auxiliary upon her retirement. Mrs. LaGatta served Monongalia county Special Olymics in several capacities over a 40 year span. Her family is very proud of her accomplishments as she set an amazing example of loyalty and service to her community.She is survived by her husband of 53 years FrancisâFranâ J. LaGatta, her children Carmela LaGatta Weber and husband Dr. Charles A. Weber of N. Olmsted, OH Ralph D. LaGatta of Westover and Michael âMikeâ LaGatta of Parma, OH grandchildren Charles A. âCJâ Weber II, Laura E. Weber and Amy J. Weber great-grandchild, Tristan A. Weber. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell and Fred and baby sister, Leajo.Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, Wednesday, March 23 from 3-5 and 7-9. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Visitation will continue at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, One Guthrie Lane, Morgantown, Thursday, March 24 from 9:30 to 10:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the church at 10:30a.m.Thursday, with the V. Rev. Mark G. Ward, CP, VF. and Fr. Colombo Bandiera as Con-Celebrants. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.Donations may be made in Emilouâs memory to the Mon County Special Olympics, P.O. Box 44, Morgantown, WV 26505
