Dear Vonceil, Wes, and other members of the family: Our condolences on the loss of your husband and father. It was our privilege to know him as Professor of Physics, Advisor to Sigma Theta Epsilon, and very active member of Wesley United Methodist Church. He was a wonderful man of God who influenced many of us in many positive ways and we will miss him until that day when we join him and others who have gone on before to our heavenly home. May God bless and comfort all of you at his passing from his earthly home, but may you rejoice in knowing that some day you will be with him again.

I have many good memories of him. He was the 'professor of choice' for engineers taking the required Physics courses. We referred to him as "Stanley Farr, the engineer's friend". He gave very lucid lectures and many, many classroom demonstrations to illustrate the physical principles he was teaching us. He was surely the best instructor I have ever encountered - at any level.

I was fortunate enough to have Prof. Farr as my physics teacher in my freshman year as an electrical engineering major. He gave me an opportunity to teach physics labs, alongside a physics grad student. That changed my life. I knew then that I wanted to be a teacher. I went on to finish my MSEE and landed a job as a physics teacher at a college in Maryland, where I have happily been for the past 35 years. As I remember it, Physics was always better by Farr. Thank you, Professor Farr.

My sincere sympathy to all his family. I have him as a Sunday school teacher at Wesley than for a Physics course in photography. Also remember seeing him taking tickets at the old Mountaineer Field. He was a fine person. My mother Mrs. Howard C. Smith also worked with Vonceil on many church functions.

Dear Stan & Wes & Vonceil & All Families: This is a note of sympathy for your dad, husband & than uncle & grandfather etc. Stan always had the biggest smile & cheerful nature whenever I used to come to Wesley Church & than Stan never had a mean word to say about anyone & he always used to make me & than my late grandmother laugh with his jokes , which were always very cheerful & good natured. I will always miss Stan's children's time at church which I had seen on more than one occasion & you could always tell by his zest for the Lord that he knew where he was going whenever he would die. Also, this is a note of much sympathy & prayers to you all during this difficult time in your all's lives & than deepest condolences to the Family too, sincerely, Danny & Dorothy Hobbs
