Obituary of Richard Willard

Richard Lee âRickâ Willard, 58, of Rock Forge Lane, Morgantown, passed away Friday, February 18, 2011 at his residence.Born June 7, 1952 in Morgantown, he is a son of Shirley Imogene Gennoy Willard who survives him, and the late Willis Lee Willard.Rick worked for Dunkard Mining Company in Dilliner, PA as a roof bolter. An avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed spending time on his bass boat. He was a fan of NASCAR, with Dale Earnhardt, Sr. being his favorite driver. He also loved spending time with his two canine companions, his yellow lab, Buddy and his black lab, Simon.In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Victoria Willard two children, Eric âTommyâ Willard and his companion, Emily Rose of Westover, and Julie Willard at home his granddaughter, Addison Willard his grandmother, Olive Gennoy of Fort Martin and three sisters, Beverly Pratt and her husband James of the National community, Patti Billie and her husband Peter of Tyrone Avery Rd., and Kathy Osburn and her companion, Rick Smith, of Petroleum, WV. Rickâs family has honored his wishes for cremation.A gathering to share memories with Rickâs family will be held at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Saturday, May 14, 2011 from 2-4 PM.In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rickâs memory may be made to the Monongalia County Dog Pound, 74 Vandervort Dr., Morgantown, WV 26505.
