Hugo J. Dalzot, 91, of Sabraton Avenue Morgantown passed away suddenly Friday, February 18, 2011 at his home. Hugo was born February 10, 1920 in Bretz, WV, a son of the late Ludwig and Mary (DuPont) Dalzot.Hugo graduated from St. Francis High School in 1937 and the Pittsburgh School of Trades in 1939. In 1940 he worked for Layman Motors, in 1945 he worked for Jim Henderson at Hendersonâs Auto Service. In 1962, he fulfilled the dream of owning his own business and started Hugoâs Auto Repair where he worked until the time of his death. Hugo was loved and admired by his customers who relied on him to repair their cars. Hugo was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Hugo touched the lives of everyone he met with his smile, sense of humor and a joke for every occasion.He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, the Serra Club and the Pines Country Club.Hugo is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 64 years, Mary Ann (Lucci) Dalzot his children: Diane Jolliffe of Noblesville, IN, Rick and wife Kathy (Tarantini) Dalzot, Karen and husband, Carmen Gutta Jr., Kim and husband Frank Gutta, III. Ten grandchildren: Amy (Jolliffe) Eby and husband Peter of Seattle, WA, Brian Jolliffe and wife, Melissa of Troy, MO, Nicholas Dalzot, Lucy (Dalzot) Gizzi and husband Jason, Maria Dalzot, Kayla (Gutta) Cook and husband Zachariah, Lindsay Gutta, Anthony Gutta, Lauren Gutta, and Ashley Gutta all of Morgantown. Seven great-grandchildren: Jacob and Morgan Eby of Seattle, WA, Kayla Coleman, Emma and Lilly Jolliffe of Troy, MO Domenic Gizzi and Landon Cook of Morgantown. One sister, Jean Ann and husband Lofton Johnson of Bruceton Mills, WV.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Alton Dalzot. Family and friends will be received at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1 Guthrie Lane, Morgantown, WV on Tuesday, Feb 22, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. which will conclude the evening visitation. On Wednesday, Feb 23, visitation will continue from 9-10 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. with V. Rev. Father Mark Ward CP, VF as celebrant. Burial will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis de Sales Memorial Fund in Memory of Hugo Dalzot 1 Guthrie Lane, Morgantown, and WV 26508.Hastings Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
