Jack Edwin Cale, 74, of Morgantown and a resident of Unity Manor, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was the proud husband of the late Anna Louise Cale. He was born January 27, 1937, in Monongalia County a son of the late Cleo Cale and Helen Duley. Jack was raised by his paternal grandparents, the late Isa and Commodore Cale which he proudly called, âmom and dadâ. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955-1959 on the USS Saratoga. Following his service Jack had several careers. He was a craftsman in the art of glass blowing, an electronics repairman and later in life he was employed as a school bus driver for Mon Co. bus #116.Upon retirement, his favorite past time hobbies were painting ceramics and he was a jigsaw puzzle master. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara A. Boggs and partner Danny Rush, a son, Ralph H. Cale and spouse, Diane, three beautiful granddaughters, April M. Long and fiancé Jason Beckner, Emily and Sarah Cale. He was also blessed with 2 great-granddaughters, Breanna and Olivia Lenhart and soon to be great-grandson Joseph Beckner, also surviving are his 3 sisters Jane Norris, Wanda Vinson and JoAnn Hoopert and a brother Marlin Miller. In addition to his parents and wife, Anna, he was preceded in death by a brother Gene. Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, from 3-5 & 7-9pm on Thursday, February 10. Visitation will continue on Friday, February 11, from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 12noon. with Pastor Bennie Moran officiating.Burial will follow at Mt. Union Cemetery.
