Obituary of Betty Edwards

Betty Lou Edwards, 79, of Morgantown, passed away Friday, December 24, 2010 at Monongalia General Hospital.Betty was born in Howesville, WV on November 23, 1931, a daughter of late Otis R. and Audra Leah McGinnis Parsons.She was a 1948 graduate of Tunnelton High School and graduated from Morgantown Business College in 1949. Betty was employed for a period of time as a secretary for the Coca-Cola Bottling Plant.Aside from being the worldâs greatest mother, Betty was an excellent seamstress, was very skilled at working crossword puzzles and could find four leaf clovers very easily. She enjoyed gardening, reading Louie Lamour western novels, and walking for exercise.She was also a long-time member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.Betty is survived by five children, Pamela White and husband, Edward of Morgantown, Robert L. Edwards, Jr. and wife Kathy of Morgantown, Patricia Groves and husband Tracy of S. Daytona, FL, Leah Billotti and husband John of Morgantown and Amy Magee and husband Mike also of Morgantown. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Audra Weigand of Morgantown, Elizabeth Dewey of Charlotte, North Carolina, Stephanie Edwards of Philadelphia, PA, Mary Katherine Edwards of Morgantown, Colton Billotti of Morgantown, Shelly Groves of S. Daytona, FL, Toni Groves of S. Daytona, FL, Adam White of Morgantown and Josh Magee of Morgantown and one brother, Charles Parsons and wife Barbara of Alva, FL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Edwards on Oct. 13, 2010 and two sisters, Janeth Grimm and Ila Mae Bishop.Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Wednesday, Dec. 29th from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service in the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Michael Atkinson officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
