Obituary of Donald Schlobohm

Donald Conard Schlobohm, 81 of Morgantown, passed away Friday, December 24, 2010, at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown, WV Donald was born in Glen Willard, PA on July 11, 1929 the son of the late Elsie Conard, and upon her death was raised by his aunt and uncle, Blanche and George Schlobohm who became his adoptive parents. Donald was a lifelong member of the Spruce Street United Methodist Church. He was a 1947 graduate of Morgantown High School. After high school he entered the U.S. Navy.Donald was a retired electrician. He worked in IBEW Local 425 for over 30 years. He was an avid golfer and a member of Mountaineer Golf Country Club for over 40 years. He also enjoyed his monthly breakfast meetings with retired IBEW Local 425 electricians. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Janet Turner Schlobohm, his children, Allen Schlobohm and wife, Marian of Winterville NC, Donna Miller and husband James of Morgantown, Phil Schlobohm and wife, Debbie of Morgantown grandchildren, Aimee Carbonneau, Kelly, Jessica, and Wesley Miller, Erik, Dylan and Macy Schlobohm great-grandchild Jenna Miller.He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Ralph and Luella Schlobohm and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Eleanor Wotring, Phyllis Grey and a granddaughter, Jennifer Boone. The family wishes to send a special thank you to all of his doctors and the staff at Monongalia General Hospital. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Monday, December 27 from 3-5 and 7-9p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, December 28 from 10a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00a.m. with family friend Rick Stackpole officiating.Cremation services will follow.
