Obituary of Joseph Gaspar

Joseph âJoeâ Gaspar, 91, Morgantown, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2010, at Monongalia General Hospital. Joseph was born in Denbo, PA on January 1, 1919, the son of the late John and Verna Bill Gaspar. He was Methodist by faith. Joe retired in 1981. He was a former employee of Davidson Brothers Garage, Sterling Faucet Company and Laurita Trucking. He is survived by his wife, Jeannette Price Gaspar, his sons Joseph D. Gaspar and wife Dixie, David A. Gaspar and wife, Rebecca, William S. Gaspar and wife Nancy, and his daughter Karen Mayfield and husband Ron, his grandchildren Connie Gaspar, Joe Gaspar, D.F. Gaspar, Emily Gaspar, Matt Gaspar, Doug Mayfield and Cortnie Mayfield White, and his great-grandchildren, Megan, Jackson, Will, and Sarah. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John Gaspar, Andrew Gaspar, Charles Gaspar, Louis Gaspar, Thomas Gaspar, Michael Gaspar, Frank Gaspar, and his sister, Elizabeth Netro. Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, from 3-5 & 7-9pm on Tuesday, December 28, and from 9:30-10:30am on Wednesday, December 29. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 10:30a.m. with Pastor Michael Atkinson officiating. Burial will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery
