Elinor Anderson Richards, 91, of Kingwood Pike, Morgantown, passed away Monday, December 6, 2010, at her home.She was born September 22, 1919, in Morgantown the daughter of the late John D. and Opal Smell Anderson. Elinor received her Library of Science Degree from West Virginia University and retired from Amherst College, Amherst, MA as head of the cataloging department at Robert Frost Library in Amherst. She enjoyed traveling with her family thoughout the country, Canada and Mexico, she especially enjoyed the trips to Europe with her husband. She enjoyed having family brunches at various restaurants. She volunteered at Mountainview Elementary Library and was a member of the Harner Chapel United Methodist Church and life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Monongalia General Hospital. She is survived by her sons, Steven Richards and Mary Ann of Homedale, Idaho Tom Richards and Scheryll of Morgantown grandson, Garrett Richards and wife Megan granddaughter, Vanessa Richards, all of Morgantown her brother, John D. Anderson, Jr. of St. Albans,WV and several nieces and nephews. Also, survived by her faithful dog, Snickers. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Richards and brother, Richard C. Anderson Hastings Funeral Home provided cremation services. A graveside service will be held at a later date at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
