Obituary of Thomas Elliott

Thomas Raymond Elliott, 42, of Morgantown, WV and formally of Cumberland, MD passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at Ruby Memorial Hospital from complications associated with Peripheral T Cell Lymphoma. Mr. Elliott was born in Cumberland, MD on February 25, 1968, to R. Thomas and G. Louise Schwinabart Elliott. He was preceded in death by grandparents J. Raymond and Madeleine Cecelia Collins Elliott and Allison F. and Grace Simmons Schwinabart and an uncle Robert Schwinabart. Besides his parents, Tom is survived by his wife Tammy Hoskins Elliott and daughter Cecelia Caroline Elliott of Morgantown. He is also survived by his sister, Tamara Lowry and husband David of Frostburg, MD and a brother James Elliott and wife Jennifer of Kearneysville, WV, numerous nieces and nephews and his father and mother-in-law Terry and Carol Hoskins of Morgantown. Tom is a 1986 graduate of Bishop Walsh High School in Cumberland where he excelled as an all area and all city defensive end for the Spartan football team. He graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in Forest Management and did additional graduate work at Marshall University. Tom was previously employed at MTEC in Morgantown as a forestry educator and was currently employed with the USDA as a Plant Protection and Quarantine Officer. âDaddy Tomâ loved spending time with his wife and daughter and enjoyed the outdoors and WVU Football⦠Go EERS! Friends will be received at St. Maryâs Catholic Church, Star City from 2-5pm on Sunday, December 5, and from 10-11am on Monday, December 6. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Monday in the church with Fr. John V. DiBacco as Celebrant. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 4:30pm on Sunday to conclude the visitation. Special thanks to the âRidgedale Elementary Familyâ as well as the staff at the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center and Ruby Memorial Hospital SIC Unit. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Leukemia and Lymphomas Society, WV Chapter, Riverwalk Corp. Center, Suite 441, 333 East Carson St., Pittsburgh, PA 15219 Hastings Funeral Home of Morgantown is in charge of the arrangements
