John David Rogers, 63, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2010, in Baltimore, MD.David was born in Clarksburg, WV on July 21, 1947 the son of the late Joseph Lee Rogers and Margie King Rogers.He attended West Virginia University, and later graduated from Salem College.David served during the Vietnam War in the U. S. Army. He was a former employee of Ruby Memorial Hospital. David was a self-employed Radiology Tech and traveled to several hospitals throughout the country. He enjoyed WVU sports, hunting, Nascar, playing with his grandchildren and his dog, Sadie.He attended Calvary Baptist Church, and was also a member of Simpson Creek Baptist Church in Bridgeport.David is survived by his wife, Linda S. Rogers his children Colin, Sarah, Molly and Michael Rogers, Jennifer and Andrew Sutherland, all of Morgantown grandchildren, Tyler, Austin, Jacob, Jaxson, Ava and Kenleigh Walls a brother Joseph E. Rogers and wife, Judee, of Georgia mother and father-in-law, Billy and Norma Wilson of Harrisville, WV brother-in-laws, Steve Wilson (Kerry) of Elkins, WV and Don Wilson (Karen) of St. Albans, WV and three nieces and one nephew. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, on Sunday, November 14 from 1-5 p.m. Visitation will continue at Calvary Baptist Church, Burroughs Street, Morgantown on Monday, November 15, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service in the church at 11:00a.m.with Pastor Doug Strother officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the V.F.W. Post 548 and WVANG Military Funeral Honors, Camp Dawson, Kingwood, WV at the cemeteryDonations may be made in Davidâs memory to the Grandchildrensâ College Fund, c/o Clear Mountain Bank, 1881 Earl Core Road, Morgantown, WV 26508.
