Obituary of Ernest Sauro

Ernest Anthony Sauro of Bruceton Mills, WV passed away Sunday, November 7, 2010, at Monongalia General Hospital.Ernest was born in Morgantown, the son of the late Joseph Sauro and Mary Cardo Sauro.He retired as manager of Dunkard Mining Company in Dilliner Pa.Ernest enjoyed working Sudoku puzzles, woodworking, renovating, hunting and working at his farm in Bruceton Mills. He mostly enjoyed spending time and telling stories to his friends and family. Ernest is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Gerba Sauro, his six children and spouses, Barbara Brown of Westover, Larry Sauro & wife Sheri of Morgantown, Janet Burkle & husband George of Morgantown, Dennis Sauro & wife Michele of Morgantown, Kenneth Sauro & wife Karen of Bruceton Mills and Nanette Judy & husband Bob of Morgantown.He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Robert Smith & wife Mirjana of Bradenton FL., Lindsay Sauro of Greensburg, IN., Danielle Veltri & husband Matt of Clearwater, FL., Brookanne Cherry & husband Larry of Camden, NC. , Steven Burkle & wife Sheila of Morgantown, Kristen Helms & husband Nick of Bruceton Mills, Kevin Sauro of Bruceton Mills, Chanda Richards & husband Mike of Morgantown, John P. Saab III of Morgantown and Maura (Katie) Saab of Morgantown. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren and one great- great Grandson. He was preceded in death by his brother William Sauro, his sister Virginia Lakatos and his grandson Nicholas Anthony Sauro.Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown WV, Nov. 10th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Visitation will continue in the funeral home on Thursday Nov. 11 from 9:00 a.m until time of the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Nate Williamson officiating.
