Dolly Marie Smith DeWitt, 89, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2010, at home.Dolly was born December 28, 1920, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Bessie Whitehair Smith.Dolly is survived by a daughter, Melodie DeWitt a son, Page âBudâ DeWitt, Jr. (and wife Susan) a granddaughter, Brook Ann Verbosky (and husband Michael) a step-grandson, Timothy Reseter 2 step-granddaughters, Faith Reseter and Charity Workman and 3 step-great grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Hilda Bowers and husband Coleman. All are from the Morgantown area.She was preceded in death by her husband, Page DeWitt, Sr. two sisters, Betty Constante and Hazel Echard and a brother, Lloyd (Sonny) Smith.Dolly enjoyed watching Steelers and Red Skins football as well as WVU football and basketball. She also enjoyed gardening, needlepoint, embroidery, and her family.The family will receive friends at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Monday, November 8th from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12 Noon with Reverend Richard Work officiating. Following the funeral service, Mrs. DeWittâs wishes for cremation will be honored, and inurnment will follow at a later date in Pleasant Hills Cemetery.
