Winifred Louise Ashenfelter, 88, of Mapleshire Nursing and Rehab Center, formerly of Kelly Road, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2010.She was born in Falcon, Kentucky on October 11, 1922, the daughter of the late Glenn R. and Erna Mae Dovenbarger King.She worked at Elizabeth Moore Hall in the WVU physical education department prior to her retirement.She was preceded in death by her husband, James Howard Ashenfelter and a sister Elizabeth.She is survived by a son and his wife, Howard and Helen Ashenfelter of Morgantown a daughter and her husband, Donna and David Hussion of Grafton three grandchildren and spouses, Susan and Craig Shelton, Amy and Matt Rhodes, Matthew and Jaci Sencindiver as well as five great grandchildren Alex and Aleecia Shelton, and Abigail, John D. and Caleb Rhodes.Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown Saturday, October 30, from 10:00a.m. until the time of the funeral service in the funeral home at 11:00a.m. with Rev. Michael Atkinson officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Morgantown.
