Obituary of Irene Blosser

Irene Blosser, 92, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at her residence.Irene was born in Arkansas on February 14, 1918, the daughter of the late Bert and Lula McQuain Widner.She was Methodist by faith. She was employed with the Morgantown Glass Factory for 25 years and then later with the Beaumont Glass Factory for several years until the factory was closed. She was an avid community volunteer and had worked for several families in the area caring for the elderly. She was a proficient bowler and was a member of the Alley Cats Bowling League and she also enjoyed quilting. She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Lou Donnally and husband Patrick, of Orlando, FL, a son, Kenneth R. Blosser and wife Alice, of Morgantown, 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Kenneth Blosser who passed away on Oct. 24, 2002, three sisters Gladys Shaffer, Elsie Shaffer, and Edna Brutto, and one brother, Lloyd Widner. Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, from 3-5pm & 7-9pm on Sunday, Oct. 24, and from 10-11am on Mon. Oct. 25. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11am with Pastor Brian Kiehl officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Westover.
