Obituary of Dorothy Nabors-Swihart

Dorothy Pauline Nabors-Swihart, 81, of Morgantown, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2010, at her daughterâs home with her loving family by her side. Dorothy was born on September 3, 1929, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Harvey Nabors. She was Methodist by faith, and a member of Calvary Methodist Church. She was the owner/operator of Swihartâs Personal Care Home for 50 plus years. Dorothy loved taking care of her patients, making big Sunday dinners, taking trips to Amish Country and spending time with her family. She is survived by her two daughters and their spouses, Mary Ann and Daniel Baker, and Doris and Randy White and a sister, Sierra Burnette, all of Morgantown ten grandchildren, Rodney Baker, Eddie Baker, Tim Burnette, Joe Baker, Stephanie Burnette-Lemasters, Tammy Burnette-Pirlo, Misti Baker-Beal, Danelle Baker, Bob Baker, and Tyler Fike 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and two great-nieces, Debbie Kelley and Donna Darnell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Kenneth James Swihart a daughter, Beverly Jane Swihart-Baker one grandson, Daniel Kenneth Baker, and a brother, James Nabors. Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Monday, Sept. 13th from 7-9 and again on Tuesday, Sept. 14th from 2-8 PM. On Wednesday, Sept. 15th, Mrs. Swihart will be moved to the Calvary Methodist Church near Cheat Lake, where visitation will continue from 12 Noon until the time of the funeral service at 1 PM with Pastor Michael Rowe and Pastor Joe Peters officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Union Cemetery on Point Marion Rd.",162287
