Kenneth Loyal Knowlton, 89, of River Road, Morgantown, passed away Monday, September 6, 2010, at Madison Nursing & Rehab Center.Kenneth was born in Walkerton, Indiana on December 7, 1920 the son of the late Lloyd A. and Dora Freed Knowlton.He was a member of the Walkerton United Methodist Church in Indiana and attended the Riverside United Methodist Church in Westover.He was a veteran of the U. S. Army during World War II. Kenneth was a manager of a propane store in Walkerton. Kenneth is survived by his wife of 20 years, Sarah Keener Knowlton, his children, Connie Northan and husband, Lane of Indiana, Tom Fleming and wife, Jan of Virginia, Frank Keener and wife, Judy of Morgantown, Clifford Keener Jr., and wife Betty of Kentucky, Joyce Hawkins of Morgantown and Carol Hilling of Ohio eleven grandchildren twenty-eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sister, Russell, Dean, Harold, Howard Knowlton, Margaret DeMyer, Freda Ross and Writhe Hostetler. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown on Wednesday, Sept. 8 from 4-7p.m. Funeral services will be held at 7:00p.m.with Rev. Larry Peters officiating. Burial will be held in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Walkerton, Indiana.In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Kennethâs memory to the Riverside United Methodist Church, 336 Monongahela Avenue, Westover, WV 26501.
