William Perry, 86, of , Star City, passed away Monday, July 26, 2010, at Monongalia General Hospital.William was born in Chaplin on February 8, 1924, the son of the late Anthony and Sarah Barberio Perry.He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II he was also a lifetime member of the V.F.W.William retired from Arkwright Mine and was a member of the UMWA as well as an honorary member of the Northern WV Beagle Club. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Anderson, his son, William A. Perry, his sisters, Mary Dietrich of Towson, MD, Joanne Bartlett and spouse Richard of Silver Springs, MD, a brother, Pete Perry of Star City, special friend, Birdie, and his dog, Emma. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Loville, a sister, Rose Nida and brothers, Martin Perry and Frank Perry. Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, from 6-9PM on Thursday, July 29, and from 9:30-10:30AM on Friday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 10:30AM on Friday, July 30, with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Westover.
