I was shocked to read of Sonny's sudden death in the Parsons Advocate yesterday. Sonny was by far the best football and basketball opponent that I played against during my three years at Mountaineer High School (class of 1960). He also exhibited true sportsmanship on and off the field. I am not surprised that he was a Christian. May the Lord bless and comfort the Carr family in your time of sorrow.

We are very sad to hear of the sudden loss of Mr. Carr and our deepest sympathies go out to Mrs. Carr, Beverly, Brian, their families, and to my best friend growing up from back home in Parkersburg, Jeff and his family. Mr. Carr was like a second father to me and treated me as if I was one of his own (good and bad)! I really wished that I could've come in and paid my respects to a man that was there for me when I was growing up, but unfortunately, I was not able to make the trip. He always put his family first all those years commuting to Clarksburg while the boys were still in high School, which says so much about the man that he was. I'll never forget just how special he was to all of us. God Bless you Mr. Carr.

Dear Carole and Precious Family,We are genuinely saddened by the loss of one of one of the most awesome men we knew. Sonny was truly something special to so many people! His life was a testimony of love and caring. His family was the most important thing on this earth to him. When he wrote us, that was always the theme of his message. As you lived your lives, you created memories, and it is those memories, the love of those close to you and God's arms around your shoulders that will carry you from here. We love you and we will be here for you when you need us. God Bless You!Love,Connie & Kevin
