Obituary of Helen Maiolo

Helen DiCarlo Maiolo, 84, of 15 Amherst Road, Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Mapleshire Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center of Morgantown, WV.Helen was born in Morgantown on October 7, 1925, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Sylvia Nero DiCarlo.Survivors include her children, Lynda Maiolo of Morgantown who served as her devoted caregiver, Carol Timpano (Albert) of Chesterfield, VA and Robert Maiolo (Mary Margaret) of Mill Valley, CA her grandchildren, Brett, Danielle and Justin Timpano all of Chesterfield, VA, Brock Sikuade of Hampton, VA and Brice Sikuade of Washington, DC and one brother, Carmen DiCarlo (Mattie) of Bel Air, MD .Helen and her husband, the late Robert Marion Maiolo, were the owners of Morgan Leather in Morgantown for more than thirty years until their retirement. She was most recently a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and also the former St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church. She was a graduate of Morgantown High School and West Virginia University. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, WV on Friday, June 4 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. On Saturday, Mrs. Maiolo will be moved to St. Frances de Sales Catholic Church, One Guthrie Lane, Morgantown where visitation will continue from 10 â" 11 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 11 AM in the church with Father Leon Alexander as celebrant. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Peace Garden Mausoleum, Star City.
